Using Design to Create Hope and Transform Lives

In 2022, Nicole S. Ingram, CEO and Principal Designer of Stacy Nicole Interiors, proudly participated as a featured Chairity Designer for The Green Chair Project's annual Chairity fundraiser. The event brought together interior designers, artists, and creative professionals from across the Triangle to transform donated chairs into one-of-a-kind works of functional art, with proceeds supporting families rebuilding their lives throughout Wake County.

The Green Chair Project is a Raleigh-based nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families transitioning from homelessness, domestic violence, foster care, natural disasters, and other life-changing circumstances. Through furniture, home décor, and essential household items, the organization transforms empty residences into safe, comfortable homes where families can begin again with dignity and hope.

As a participating designer, Nicole reimagined a donated chair into a unique statement piece that reflected her passion for thoughtful, purposeful design. The completed chair was auctioned during the Chairity event, helping raise funds that directly supported The Green Chair Project's mission of furnishing homes and changing lives.

For Nicole, Chairity represented more than a creative challenge—it embodied the belief that interior design can positively impact lives beyond traditional residential and commercial projects. By combining artistry with compassion, the event demonstrated how the design community can work together to create meaningful change while supporting families during some of life's most difficult transitions.
